California’s workplace violence prevention law (Labor Code 6401.9, also known as SB 553) took effect on July 1, 2024, and the deadline for annual review and training is approaching.

Under SB 553, employers are required to:

✅ Review their Workplace Violence Prevention Plan (WVPP) at least once a year
✅ Provide effective training on how to identify, report, and prevent workplace violence
✅ Prepare for upcoming Cal/OSHA standards (expected by 2026)

If your agency needs help achieving compliance or has questions about developing, updating, or implementing your WVPP, we’re here to support you.
