How we show up — both at work and at home — is shaped by many factors in our personal and professional lives. Many government agencies offer an extensive range of health and wellness benefits, including Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs), which can be a very helpful short-term intervention when employees need it most.

If your agency offers an EAP, you may have access to services such as:

  • 24/7 confidential support for personal, emotional, or work-related concerns
  • Short-term counseling with trained professionals, in person or virtually
  • Financial and legal resources, including consultations, discounts, and referrals
  • Guidance for work-life challenges like caregiving, parenting, or relationship issues
  • Resources to support mental health and overall well-being

EAPs and other health and wellness benefits are often underutilized, not well understood, and not thoroughly communicated. For insights on sharing the value of all employee wellness programs and benefits, check out Personify’s 2024 Insights: Employee Health and Productivity Report.
