RGS Winter 2025 Management Institute – Session 1

View the informational Management Institute flyer and syllabus.

As a new manager in the local government arena, the RGS Management Leadership Academy gave me a wide range of skills to help in my development. The speakers, content and one-on-one coaching all had a tremendous impact. I was able to immediately apply the information from the sessions and there were visible direct results with the team I lead.

This Academy helped me to feel more confident in my ability to navigate the world of local government. From having difficult conversations, understanding how to grow and develop teammates, to delivering to Councils and Committees, RGS does an incredible job helping attendees grow and develop leadership skills.

While the Academy taught a seemingly endless number of skills I have applied in my day-to-day role, working collaboratively within my organization to best utilize budget, teammates, and community relationships were high on my list. RGS’ sessions that demonstrate how everything is interconnected help bring these skills forward the most.

If anyone is on the fence about the Academy, the coaching is what sets it apart. Coaching sessions provide great opportunities to learn and grow and is where the learning comes to life. The coaches really invest in your development, your situation, and your team’s issues. Training and coaching come together in a truly fantastic way.

I have attended and sent other teammates to similar trainings and the RGS Management Leadership Academy is one of the best. Between the trainings, panel sessions, and coaching, it is a fantastic use of an organization’s training budget.
